The Angiogenesis Research Center,
BIDMC/Harvard Medical School conducts a comprehensive research program
designed to discover and understand the basic mechanisms underlying blood
vessel formation in the heart and vasculature and to develop new therapies
for treatment and prevention of ischemic cardiovascular disease disease.
The program integrates research and development efforts in basic molecular
and cell biology, pre-clinical investigations, gene therapy, genomic research,
drug development, cell based therapy, local drug delivery with a comprehensive
clinical research program and cardiac imaging program. The center is funded
by NIH, NCRR, NHLBI, AHA, and private foundations and philanthropy.
